Client Spotlight

Jesus Rock : By Gladys Akins

To all the Haters out there:

Invest your Life in Jesus

And you’ll be a guaranteed winner.

Hey! Hey! Hey!

It’s Jesus on the line,

And He gets all of my time.

Whenever I lose hope,

Jesus shows me ways to cope.

Whenever I feel sad,

I take to Jesus and I feel glad.

Jesus shows me how to live with life’s ups and downs.

This helps me to successfully get around.

Satan is very disappointed in Me,

Because I refuse to give him my Life’s key.

I love the life I live by living by Jesus’ ways.

Jesus shows me how to give help and hope to people in so many ways.

Wanted! Wanted! Wanted!

Satan is looking for all lost souls.

I say NO to Satan – My Life, Jesus controls.

Staying focused on Jesus 24/7

Jesus guaranteed me that I’ll go to Heaven.

God’s love and spirit live deep down in all of us.

We must navigate our minds to stay focused.

Praying in life matters – Give all your problems to the Lord

And when Jesus returns you know you’ll be in the right line when he says “All Aboard!”

Client Appreciation Event

On October, 21, 2015 Metropolitan Educational Solutions (MES) hosted its annual Client Appreciation Event. Clients enjoyed a formal lunch in a private dining room at Clyde’s of Gallery Place in the Chinatown District of Washington, DC. During the event all participating clients received a Certificate of Participation for 2015. Clients who attended the event were hand chosen by their case manager and also given personalized certificates highlighting their talents and continual work to lead a more self-sufficient life. These clients are also role models and exemplary members in their respective communities. Raymond Bell Jr. a social entrepreneur and founder of Hope Project DC delivered a powerful message of hope and opportunity as the keynote speaker. Most of the clients who attended the event were at one time in their life homeless for more than a year with no prospect of housing. Since receiving housing and becoming clients at MES, these inspiring individuals have transformed their lives in a positive direction by going to work, school, and for those with children becoming excellent parental role models. The staff at MES are were excited and proud to honor these individuals for their hard work and perseverance towards a life of independence.

Spring Celebration

Every year Metropolitan Educational Solutions hosts our annual Spring Celebration. This April, the event was held at Anacostia Park in Southeast Washington, DC and drew a crowd of over 60 clients and their families. MES staff put on their chef hats and started grilled up hot dogs and burgers for lunch. Our artistic and creative staff members rolled up their sleeves to face paint the children in the program. The main event at our Spring Celebration was the arrival of the Video Game Truck. MES families participated in friendly dance battles, while children enjoyed themselves playing racing and boxing video games inside the truck. Moreover, the kids along with their parents played tag and participated in an Easter egg hunt. This year’s event, like in years past, was a huge success. MES enjoyed providing our clients with a fun-filled, family-oriented day of celebration and we plan to continue the tradition each and every Spring.

Did you know on any given night there are 7,784 homeless persons in District of Columbia?

Metropolitan Educational Solutions, LLC (MES) provides case management for families and individuals through the Permanent Supportive Housing Program (PSHP). We focus on sustaining a healthy community which promotes individual responsibility and self-sufficiency.
